Dawn Candy Weekend Workshop
May 18-19, 2024
Saturday and Sunday
9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Class size is limited to 12 participants
$225
Saturday
Dawn's demonstration will focus on throwing and altering pieces. Depending on interest, she will make cream and sugar sets, flower bricks, and small dishes. Workshop participants will have an opportunity to try these forms with Dawn providing one on one instruction. These are the pieces we will be decorating on Sunday.
Time permitting, we may have a slide show of Dawn's work.
Saturday evening we will have a potluck dinner together. Plan to bring a dish with you, which can be refrigerated, or pick up/Door Dash from a local restaurant. Whole Foods' deli counter is not far.
Scarab will provide tableware, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. Spouses/partners are welcome to join us.
Sunday
Dawn will demonstrate several surface techniques on her pots thrown on Saturday. We will learn to mix casting slip she uses in her processes. She will discuss layering techniques and how to create depth on the surfaces. Participants will have the opportunity to try these techniques on their pots thrown on Saturday. However, the pots need to be bone dry, therefore it is best if people will bring some bone-dry pots of tiles to work on as well.
