Materials Fee: $50 payable to the instructor on the first day of class
Class Description: Class members will design and create a 6 inch mosaic vase or lantern.
In this six week class will learn to create their 3 D mosaic using the indirect method . Cheryl will demonstrate how to use the necessary tools and adhesives for this project.. She will share strategies and tricks she uses to master these beautiful works of art.
There is a lot covered in this class and it will most likely require all six weeks to complete.
Age: This class is suitable for adults.
Class Experience Level: This class is designed to accommodate learners from the first time mosaicist to the experienced artist.
Class Size: The class size can range anywhere from 5 to 10 individuals.
Most materials such as tools and supplies to complete this mosaic will be provided by the instructor, including adhesive, glass tesserae, and slate.
Students should bring the following:
- Paintbrush to aid in cleaning as you go.
- Apron or old clothing since mosaic making can be messy.
- Old shoe box or small tub for cutting glass with nippers.
- Additional mask for mixing grout
- Glasses or protective eye wear
- Rubber gloves for grouting
- Small tweezers for detail work
