  • Open to all artists, professional and amateur.

What

  • For this artist opportunity the gallery is seeking works that are inspired by a theme, which changes annually.  The theme for March, 2025, is Fantasy

  • Works can be representational or abstract.

  • Works in any type of media, either two or three dimensional, will be considered.

    • acrylic, airbrush, charcoal, color pencil, computer art, digital art, digital photography, drawings, ceramics, encaustic, fiber arts, graphite, illustration, mixed media, oil, pastel, pen and ink, photo assemblage, printmaking, small sculpture, traditional photography, video, watercolor

  • Subject matter for the art is anything inspired by the theme.

    • landscape, floral, fauna, people, activities, artifacts, history, buildings, and whatever else inspires the artist​

When

  • Submission: December 1, 2024 through February 15, 2025

  • Artist Notification:  February 18, 2025

  • Art Delivery:  February 27-28 and March 1, 2025

  • Opening Reception: March 6, 2025, 5 to 8 p.m.

  • Exhibit runs: March 6 through March 23, 2025

  • Pick Up Work: Monday through Wednesday, March 24-25-26, 2025

  • Gallery Presence and Marketing Opportunity

    • Scarab Creative Arts is one of the premier arts centers in Fresno's arts district. 

    • Artists' work will be exhibited at the gallery at Scarab Creative Arts throughout most of the month of March. 

    • A reception is scheduled on the first Thursday in March in conjunction with Fresno's downtown ArtHop.

    • Potential patrons will be invited via our aggressive marketing program. 

  • Ongoing Marketing on the Scarab Web Site 

    • Images of each piece shown in the gallery will be on the Gallery Archives page of our website indefinitely, with either a link to the artist's web site.

    • All artists who submit to this show will have at least one of their submitted works posted and promoted on our website indefinitely.

    • Steps 1 and 2 - Submit December 1st, 2024 through February 15th, 2025.

    • Step 3, if your work is accepted, deliver the labeled work to the gallery February 27th through March 1st, 2025.

Legal Agreement

  • By entering our calls for entry, you are agreeing to be added to the Scarab Creative Arts email list for upcoming artist opportunities.

  • By submitting images, you agree that the images are your own work, you own all rights to the images, and you take full responsibility for the content of all images.

  • The actual artwork will remain the property of the artist. 

  • Should your work be accepted, you grant Scarab Creative Arts the right to reproduce your image on our website, on social media, and where appropriate to help promote the exhibition.

Shipping

  • Should the artist need to ship work to the gallery please email to request a secure shipping address. ​Please do not ship your work directly to Scarab Creative Arts.

  • For return shipping the artist must include a prepaid return shipping label.

  • Should a buyer request shipping of the piece(s) after the show, the artist is responsible for packaging and shipping the piece(s). Buyers will be advised shipping is available, cost to be determined.

Details

  • Art will remain in the gallery throughout the duration of the show.

  • Unframed canvases should be painted around the outside edge of the canvas.

Liability

  • The agreement entered into between gallery owners and the Fresno Arts Council specifies division of responsibilities regarding insurance.

  • Scarab Creative Arts does not provide insurance for art exhibited in the gallery and assumes no responsibility for loss incurred due to theft, fire, water, vandalism, or any other natural or man-made occurrence. 

Commission

  • Artist/Gallery Commission for Work Sold Out of the Gallery: 80% Artist / 20% Gallery​

  • Purchases by patrons driven to you from your link on our website Gallery Archives page after the exhibit are not subject to commission.
